Fisher County: Are we striving for positive change? Are we informed?

fishercrestoration

It’s election time and everyone is making promises, trying to push their agendas, telling you all the things they intend to do. Do you really know your reps that are running for local seats in your county? We need to pray about these seats. That they be filled with God fearing and loving people. That they be filled with well intentioned people and those that strive for positive change. That they not fall into the heavy weight of winning and acts set forth that cause power hungry people to degrade others so that they may win. We need to pray for not only those running but our voters. That they make informed decisions and not ones based on bias, or ugly agendas. This is a race but one that we can all win. If we seek God’s wisdom and knowledge to help us make informed decisions then we will be led. That’s what we want right? Positive change? Positive direction? Growth without changing our small town feel? Growth that supports positive direction for our small communities?

Today, I encourage you to not fall into Satan’s swirl during election time. I encourage you to make positive change within your community no matter how small that act might be. Today, I’m not here with an agenda but to encourage you to go talk to those that are running. Stop asking your friends what they think, Go be INFORMED. Pray that God give you peace with your vote.

Here are 7 questions I encourage you to ask.

1. What qualifies you to be in your position? Why should I vote for you? 2. How will you handle conflicts of interest?

3. What are the biggest changes you think we need to make?

4. What reforms do you support to increase access to justice for all? Will you fight for them?

5. How do you define injustice?

6. How will you deal with injustice when you confront it in your courtroom?

7. How will you work to ensure equality for people of all backgrounds in your courtroom?
